Awesome Daniel, Two years UPSMAN and I will be ready. You need to go back with us. Plus Bill needs to kill one.
Count me in.... Sure will be easier packing one out with 4 people.
However since Bill and I did it alone, we will let you guys handle the first one by yourselves just so you can get the FULL enjoyment we experienced.

That is awesome! Congrats on a great bull! I really miss that place haven't been up there in about 8 years...Gotta get back soon. I'd love to do a DIY moose hunt a couple years down the road.

That is awesome congrats. What air service did you use? Did you see any grizz? How far was camp from the bull?

Is the land you hunt open to just anybody or is it accessible to only a particular outfitter/guide service and the general public as well? Great photo's and congratutlations on such a great animal and pricless memories....

My understanding is it is public ground and can be accessed by anyone. However the outfitter we flew with has been putting hunters into this area for 35 years and are pretty secretive of "their" honey holes.
If you research we were in area 17B and was restricted to moose, black bear and wolf by non-residents. Caribou herd has been falling in numbers in that area.
The area we hunted does not allow any motorized vehicle except for planes delivering hunters. So float hunt or base camp /drop hunt are the only options. There are no roads and it was a 2.5 hour flight by float plane from Soldatna.
