Hawken style fullstock that I've retired. Nothing wrong with it at all and could still take her out hunting with confidence. I scatch built this gun from parts way back in the middle 70s. The stock started out as plank of curly maple. About 90% of the build was with hand tools.

This old photo is me and the same rifle. I killed that buck on Thanksgiving Day in 1978. If I remember correctly, Tennessee didn't have a muzzle loading season in place then. Oh yes...that euro mount in the first pic is from the deer below.

way cool. i got into blackpowder around 1980.

Nice collection you got there. Flintlocks have always been my favorite but have also been real partial to plains style rifles.

Little late to the party, but here's my collection.....

First pic;
Top rifle is 'Thumpy' a Lyman Great Plains in .54 RE Davis triggers & all the bluing stripped & patina'd.
Bottom is my favorite gun. It's a .54, 42" barreled rifle biult here in Tullahoma by my good friend John Anderson. It was built following no particular style or school, just a mish-mash of different parts that I liked & thought would work together.

Second pic;
Top is an English Sporting Rifle .50 built from a mixture of T/C, Investarms & Davis parts. Incredibly accurate target gun.
Bottom is a Traditions Crockett in .32 & it's my go-to skwerling gun.

Last pic is 'Pig' It started out as a fast-twist T/C White mountain carbine. I re-barreled it with a cut down to 17" Green mountain 1:66 twist .58 tube. It has a Skinner peep sight & is a fantastic sub-50yd brish & hog gun. 120gn of FFFG & a .575 roundball is pretty persuasive in a gun that only weighs 5½ pounds!

Hey Rob, good to see you here. I bought a flintlock Cabela's Hawken .54 from you a few months back.

*Wooden bows, Lever actions & Blackpowder. All a body needs!*

I'd replace wooden bows with match guns for turkey shoots and agree wholeheartedly with you.
