Hazelnuts?

Read some about them.Wonder if they are high,or would be high on a deers list?Was thinking of getting a few to plant.Looks like a good food plot size tree/bush.Anyone with experience with them?

I planted 25 last year and will probably plant another 25 this year. THey seem to have good yeilds so it intrigued me. I planted bare root ones, they didnt grow much at all this year.

No experience but I am ordering some next spring. Here is where to get them:

has them, I think reasonable in price, they seem to be able to grown in TN. My personal favorite snack nut. I would wager anything that tastes as good as a hazelnut would be a delicacy to a deer, consider apples as an example.

I've planted a few as an experiment to see how they do on my property because I heard every critter likes to eat the nuts including people. They seem to grow well for me. Another source of seedlings is the Tennessee Dept. of Forestry which has bare root seedlings delivered free to your county for $75 for 100 or $225 for 500.
