This subject came up in the Archery section and I just wanted to clarify the legality of it—is it legal to have a field point in your quiver during archery season? I know that it is illegal to shoot a deer with a field point, but what about just carrying one even on a wma?

If you get into the cross the T and dot the I technicalities, it probably isn't legal. You would be in possession of illegal equipment while archery hunting for deer.
Yes, I know it is legal for squirrels.
I, personally wouldn't write a citation for it, but I think a case could be made. I would leave it at home and not have to worry about grabbing the wrong arrow in the heat of the moment.

It is to me, but the actual legality is in a gray area.

SCN, What about blunts? I have a traditional bow that I'm going to hunt with this year and was going to carry a blunt tipped arrow or two with me to "stump" shoot or fling at a squirrel, which would be safe I'm pretty sure.

Contact your local officer as there are conflicting regs.

Never realized this was a problem. I was going to take my practice arrows to shoot some squirrels before I got out of my stand in the mornings.

I'm not saying it is a problem. But, the is some gray area. It probably is worth a call to your local officer to make sure it isn't a problem with them.
