My neighbor's plots has it. I am afraid it was introduced to the plot by planting sections of the plots in Chufa. The seed pods haven't matured and opened yet. Does anyone have any experience or advice to control it?

If I remember correctly, my Biology teach told us that you can get hi off of it, but I've never actually seen it to my knowledge.

True and I am afraid it is going to be very invasive.

Read down to the bottom.

The Jamestown story in that article is hilarious. Professor Sharma didn't mention any of those details. The article said that it could be controlled with broadleaf herbicides. I didn't know that it was invasive.

I didn't know it was invasive, Wiki says it is believed to have originated from the Americas, so it's probably native but why is it a problem? I only see it occasionally and it's nothing compared to the pigweed around here.

As for getting high off it, I have read about that, you can use the seeds to get high, but it is a very poisonous plants so if you overdose then you will get poisoned. Not something I'm gonna mess with. Cool looking plant though, I like it. From the same family as tomatoes.

Yeah definitely not a good idea to use Jimsonweed recreationally, that was just the only thing I remember about it from Bio class several years ago. My professor's area of focus was plants with drug like qualities. He did his dissertation at Harvard on "Cabanas Sativa" (pronounced with a thick Indian accent) and his roommate studied Cocaine and the Coca plant. He was full of interesting little tid-bits.

That is a fairly tall weed. I would think a good mowing at about the time it first starts blooming would keep your seed stock down. I've seen it all my life but never noted it to be particularly invasive.

There was a female student that we found outside that was higher than a kite on the seeds. She was grazing like a cow. That is in no way a joke. Grazing on grass like it was the stuff!
