id go with mucks or lacrosse.. if your looking for one boot for all season id go with an uninsulated one. You will burn up in september.

If we have a mild winter id say he could get by with a non insulated, just have to where a thick sock and make sure the feet dont sweat. But i have to agree with you. I have 2 sets of lacrosse, one uninsulated and the other is a 1200 gram.

The two pair I use are lacrosse for early season and when it turns cold (below 40) I use mucks.

Muck Woody Max. They will be a little too warm for opening day of bow but half way through rifle season you'll be glad you bought them.

If there is enough budget for an early season pair and a late season pair (which as you can tell is what most of us have) go with the Muck Field Blazers for early/turkey season and the Woody Max's for late season.

Never been disappointed with Lacrosse, they last forever and keep feet warm with the right socks, but Ive got a non-insulated and insulated pair.

Under Armour just came out this yr with their new rubber boot (HAW) that blows every other one away in weight. At just a hair over 2lbs per pair they have gel insoles and they are unbelievably comfortable. They come in uninsulated or 800gr. They have a grip on the rear that makes them easy to take off. I have a pair of lacross and mucks and the comfort between them is beyond compairisn. Sizes run small so if u normally wear a size 12 get a size 13.
