I have a huge white oak in my back yard, drops at least two garbage cans full every other year and this year I am expecting another massive crop. Can I take these to my lease and pile em up?

Not and hunt within 250 yds of where you put them out. It would be considered baiting.

yeah you have to hunt them where they naturally fall otherwise it is baiting. Take advantage of the natural food sources instead of dumping the acorns to hunt over... unless you are outside the 250 yd radius... I am basically using more words to say what scn said. lol.... and he is a TWRA guy so take his word for it.

Okay SCN, you have probably kept the neighborhood squirrels as happy as can be. Plus, my kids are doing handstands because they won't have to backpack in a ton of acorns.
For Sale: Free, white oak acorns for your lease, guaranteed to grow. Must pick up at my place. Literally.

When my son was 4 or 5 and he would tag along with me hunting, if he saw an acorn on the ground walking to the stand, he would stop and pick it up so we could put it out at our stand when we got there. He said it would draw em in close. I used to chuckle to myself and say OK son, bring it, it may help. Didn't know I was breakin' the law with my two acorns.....whats the statute of limitations on two acorns.....this may or may not be a fabricated story

I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations has run its course. It is great that you had your son out there!

When I was 13-14 I would carry a pocket full to the stand and wittle on them. I figured the smell of fresh cut ackerns would help. LOL Oops
