I just got some Beman 400 Bowhunter shafts for practice on ebay for $52 including shipping. The Beman ICS Hunter shafts with Vibrabrake that I got for hunting are $13 more.
I've shot the Bemans for years and have been very pleased with their performance and durability.

"Good" and "cheap" are two words that seldom go good together. Especially with arrows. The arrow is your connecting link between you and your target...not the thing you want to go cheap quality on.
Your best bet is to find used but good quality arrows on ArcheryTalk that are cheaper priced. I like to find them that are longer than what I need so that I can cut off any impact cracks that may be present on them. I got a dozen and a half of Easton N-Fused Axis shafts for $75 shipped tmd. They normally are around $130 a dozen new. There are deals like that on there every day...just need to know how long of shafts you need and what spine you need them in.

Look at Redhead arrows. They are made by Gold Tip and you can get them for about $60 per dozen. They aren't my Carbon Express Maxima Hunter's but they will kill deer and shoot good.

It is brand new. The new arrows were brought out during this year's Fall Hunting Classic. They have been made by Carbon Express in years past but this year they made the switch to Gold Tip. Personally, wish they were still Carbon Express shafts.

Not a problem. I want to look more into which shaft is which between the Gold Tip and Redheads. The shafts are exactly the same just the names and vanes are different. I will look Wednesday night and post it on here.

I shoot Cabela's shafts. I like them better than the Easton Epic and Gold Tip XT's I had before them. They are made by Easton/Beman I believe.

Cabela's stalker extreme is about what your looking for or used to be. Heard they were a beman arrow with a cabela label. Both are made by easton, so I've been told.
What's your definition of good? Problem I have with most arrows is getting a quiver full to hit the same spot. If hitting a 6" circle is "good" the cabela arrows are right there. I usually have one arrow that's dead on and the rest a little off in their own world.

Mayhem's are excellent. They are heavier than the Maxima's meaning more kinetic energy. But you are right. They aren't cheap.

Your inserts were not squared into your shafts. If you buy a box of the same arrows and have the same points they should hit the same spot. I would get some new inserts and be sure to have them squared into the arrow shaft.
