And those teachers are doing such a fine job: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/us-depar...ficient-reading(CNSNews.com) - Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math. Chicago public school teachers went on strike on Monday and one of the major issues behind the strike is a new system Chicago plans to use for evaluating public school teachers in which student improvement on standardized tests will count for 40 percent of a teacher’s evaluation. Until now, the evaluations of Chicago public school teachers have been based on what a Chicago Sun Times editorial called a “meaningless checklist.”
Well before blaming the teachers for poor student performance.... we need to know how many of thise kids are really interested in learning and applying themselves? After all it is Chicago.... thugs, drugs, and crime everywhere.... most are probably products of their environments.

The students and parents should go on strike. REFUSE to attend the daily public indoctrination meetings until the underperforming staff who went on strike are replaced. These idiot NEA and politicians only have as much power a we yield to them, STOP giving them so much Most of the parents use the Chicago schools as a babysitting service. GIGO.

http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2012/09/11/best-worst-cities-for-travel-taxes/?intcmp=features
Highest combined single day travel taxes Chicago $40.31 New York $37.98 Boston $34.83 Kansas City, Mo. $34.58 Seattle $34.43
Keep in mind this is JUST the TAX on the hotel bill!

Chicago is on the verge of imploding and I can't wait to see it happen.

Chitcago, the "new" Detroit.
That city isn't worthy to be included in the U.S.

Teachers on strike making 76k a year turn down a 16% pay increase.
Holy Cow! The principals in most of our county systems in Tennessee don't make 76K a year.
