Any suggestions? I've got a '93 50 HP Mercury which was left to me by my grandfather when he died. We do the basic maintenance on it, but I foresee it needing some more intensive care in the future. Carburetor, impeller, top to bottom inspection and so forth. I'm just planning ahead. I might try to get it done before next summer if all goes well. Just looking for suggestions on good places to take it if I decide to let a pro deal with it.
The thing has run like a champ with basic maintenance until recently and I'm not nearly good enough to want to tear it apart on my own. Like I said, just planning ahead.

I had a guy on Sulfur Springs Road ? Up by Smyrna fix my 60 Johnson. Did a good job. Decent turn around during spring rush.
Not sure where I put his card. Sorry.

Thanks. I'll check both and see who can do what.
I think the Smyrna guy is a friend of my dad's father. He was recommended once before.

those little ones are not that hard to do and may not need much. I just got a older 25hp merc and the guy had it to a shop when I looked at it it would not start without putting gas in the carb. so i just bought the carb kit and rebuilt it never doing one before. runs like a champ now.
