Lifetime license and Apprentice license

For my son's first birthday, I bought him a lifetime sportsman license. He has went hunting with me a few times but never actually hunted himself. He wants to go on the juvenile hunt this year. He is 10 yrs old. He and my fiance' are going to take the test online but will not attend a "field day" before the hunt date. I know you can by an apprentice license for one year before you have to have the hunters safety course. How does this work if he has technically had a license for the past nine years but actually didnt use it except to fish. Thank you

I'm not twra but I was in the boat last year. He has to have the apprentice license without completing the course regardless of the sportsman.

He will have to have the Apprentice License until he completes the class. It will be good for one year. Since he is a Lifetime License holder, if you will contact the License Sales Div. at (615) 781-6585, they will run the license at no charge.
