I bought a Leupold VX-11 4x12 AO last year and the power ajustment seams real stiff. Do they loosen up in time or what?

The VX-III's are much better made scopes than the VX-II's.

I have always heard to be scared of the loose turning ones and the tighter turning ones have better tolerances. Sounds good anyway.

I've heard of a few folks sending back the VX2 to tweak the power ring tension. Everyone that had mentioned doing it in the past seem to have had no issue with the Leupold folks doing the adjustment. I have a VX2 2-7x33 that's a might tight, thought about sending it back but can't quite get over a lack of inertia. My VX3 2.5-8 is very smooth, another couple of VX2 are pretty smooth to turn. Hate to hear that the Golden Ring boys didn't get it right for you, might give them a call and talk directly with them again.

I've seen some that tighten to the point of being very difficult to move when out in cold conditions. I guess the lube stiffens up.
