I have been amazed at the number of acorns I am finding on my place after the prolonged drought and heat wave. Reckon the rains came just in time to finish them out. The squirrels were cutting on some of them 6-8 weeks ago and that is the earliest I ever recall. There are not too many squirrels on my place this year-some but not a lot. And it seems the acorn fall is happening early too-guess it goes along with the early spring and warm weather. Found some whiteoaks today that are loaded and one of them is really dropping acorns big time. I have seen chestnut acorns falling too. Here are a couple of pics-you can see all the white oak acorns on the ground if you look closely. PH

If you have had a bad drought look for less acorns next year.

Every acorn tree I came across today was COVERED in them. From the small ones to the ones the size of a quarter.
