Are 13-15yr olds required to obtain this in order to hunt? My son is 12 but turns 13 mid season. I tried to get the out of the lady at walmart but she confused the heck out of me.He already has his hunter safety.

Once he turns 13 he has to have the Jr License.

If he wants to hunt antlerless deer during the regular g/m/a season on the Special Season Antlerless hunts, he would need a Type 94 permit.
That permit is not needed on the Young Sportsman hunt.
