Ok I've been seeing people getting checked by the game warden. Since this is my first season of hunting and I really don't know, what do I need to have on me? Just my sportsman's license with the duck stamp and hunter safety card?

In addition to your licenses, you will be checked for compliance with all regulations dealing with the type of hunting you are doing, such as correct ammunition, bag limit, magazine capacity for migratory birds, blaze orange for big game firearm, etc.
You will find a lot of the information on those regulations in the Manner and Means section of the Hunting Guide. If you don't understand something, don't hesitate to call the Boating and Law Enf. Div. at (615) 781-6580 for clarification.

You need the migratory bird permit as well. Its free but you have to ask for it.

No you have to ask for it.

You are supposed to have to ask for it.
Check your license and see if the agent included it. Since it is a no cost deal for Sportsman License holders many agents improperly include it without asking the required migratory bird survey questions. If you don't find it listed, you will have to get it before hunting doves or waterfowl.
And, as a FYI, it is required in all states, and it is not reciprocal between states. So, if you go to another state to hunt migratory birds, you will have to obtain their migratory bird permit as well.

What if you buy your license on line on the TWRA website? I just looked at my license and it did not include the Migratory Permit. Can I go back to the TWRA online and print it off?
