My opinion is to sight it in and then give it a chance a few times in the field to see how it performs in your hands. If at that point I was still undecided and still possibly wanting to change it, I would more seriously consider the idea of shipping it back to get said adjustments. I am hearing a few guys (some on here and some local guys) say they have never messed with the parallax, and these guys kill beaucoups of squirrels with a .22 most every year. As previously stated, I think I would at least have to try it out 2-3 times in the field before I made my final decision. My .02 and best of luck with your final decision Wes.

I ran into this problem sevral years back, a wounded squirrel was only a few yards away & I missed sevral times & I know the scope was on the money.

I'm look'n for a new scope now & cant make my mind up as to which one, found a Nikon EFR with fine reticle & AO, but I aint a big fan on a AO, nearly more trouble than ther worth for my part.

likely because your scope is above the bore and at close range, this can make you miss low. I don't think it had anything to do with parallax.

Very well could be, need to experiment to see just how it does shoot at close range, sounds like a good project for the weekend.

Mount your head on the stock the same way every time and it would seem to me that you could eliminate most of the problem.

This Burris Mini 6x has an adjustable AO-I think it is a 'rimfire' scope. I'm not sure how much it helps but I run it set on 25yds unless I shooting at something much closer or farther. It seems to affect the focus more than anything but undoubtedly helps reduce parallax error. PH

I've been look'n at scopes for a .22 all weekend, dig'n around on forums & reviews, it all kind of runs together after a while.

Nice look'n critter gitter ya have the PH, what kind of goodies ya have in that little monster ???

Have a 10-22 thats "a work in progress" myself.

FoxFire, it has a Volquartsen barrel and a Jewell trigger. The Weaver 2-7 rimfire scope is pretty good and I think Leupold has a similar one. Dont think Burris makes this scope anymore. PH

PH: So far the only mod I have is a Swamp Fox trigger group, think'n about have'n my factory barrel accurized & some bolt work done later on, for what Ive read it makes a big improvement but at this point I dont know the cost involved VS a barrel upgrade.

WC: nice st up ya have, left handed are ya ?? I looked at a Nikon 3x9x40 EFR the other day, loved the fine recticle but not so much the AO, Question...A 50 yards setting ?? think'n thats the first one I've seen, that model still in production ??
