I tried it last night and it worked great!
I was shocked how far the foam actually went inside the tubing of the stand. It easily went completely inside all of the tubing.
Now the mess, that's another story. I put down cardboard and it saved my garage floor, boy that stuff is sticky!
Thanks for all of the advice.

yeah wear gloves before spraying that foam, its definately a mess. Also keep the cables sprayed with a plastic coating on the bare metal spots, it makes them alot quiter when setting up in the morning.

It added like zero weight. Let it dry, trim it off, paint it black. I was shocked at how much quieter the stands are.

I hate that they are making money of this idea.I've been filling my stand with foam and painting the outside with rubberized under coating for about 10 years. Owell.

What kind of undercoat do you use?
I tried it last year and it was a gummy mess. Only gave it 3 days to dry and I think it was during gun season/cool and wet.
Want to try it again to quiet down the area the cables go into.

Field tested the new quieter Summit stand project this past weekend and it is unbelievable what a difference in the sound of the stand. Try it, you'll love it!

How many cans of spray foam does it take to do a summit viper? Does the rubber undercoating make the platform slick? Thanks
