i went to a place this afternoon that is loaded with hickories and didnt see the first one. Im going in the morning but im undecided on were to go at the current moment.

Well I have been twice with a grand total of 0 squirrels and have found 0 hickories also. That is one of the big problems. Also having to hunt on a WMA and this is my first season hunting ever are not in my favor.

inkstainz- hang in there it will eventually come togehter i went to a wma the other day and never found a single hickorie tree so i started looking for oaks. Good luck and happy hunting.

mature oaks can make for some great squirrel hunting in late september and october.

Way to go-every limit of 10 with a rifle is tough in my view and good shooting too. I haven't been yet as I was out of town opening weekend. There doesn't seem to be as many squirrels on my place this year. I have seen some acorn and hickory cuttings for 6 weeks or longer but not a ton. I have been in the woods a couple of mornings coyote hunting but saw very few squirrels. I will get after them a bit when it cools down. PH
