Attn: TWRA Officers on this site, I just wanted to complement one of the Shelby County officers I ran into last Thursday.
I was on my way out to the steel mill, and noticed a TWRA truck parked alongside Riverport Rd, and the officer was checking out the hundreds of egrets in one of the ponds down there. So I stopped to chat and see what was catching his attention. He was a very friendly guy, talking about the rare occasion to see the storks that were mingling with the egrets, and was happy to talk for a while. He was a great guy and was a great face for the agency. I wish I could give you his name.

I don't think I have ever had a "bad" encounter with a GW. When I had my lease in the middle of the state and if he saw me hanging around my camper he would often just drop by and chit chat. He even helped me load a deer onto my four wheeler once. I never thought that he was just "checking me out." And never once even checked to see my license.
Most GW's have a trained eye, they know when someone is up to somthing or not.
I take my hat off to all of them for their service.
