I would love to go dove with you hopefully itl'll work out. No there are fields, public swampland and lake to hunt if you want a good pay and hunt, look up Fuller's Hill in New Johnsonville,TN. Ask to talk to Stik.

Man, its been tough hunting so far. Yesterday, I stopped at Hatchie on my way out of Memphis. Over the course of 4 hours, I only managed to bag one squirrel.

I arrived in Nashville yesterday and it was 100 degrees. Went out Squirrel hunting on PP in the afternoon, shot a squirrel right away and then it started raining. I only saw one other squirrel and couldn't get a shot. I will note that I was impressed to see two other squirrel hunting parties on a weekday afternoon, both using .22s. That's encouraging to see. We ate the two squirrels for dinner last night, so I'm running on empty for dinner tonight. Heading East to Crossville later this morning -we'll see what happens this afternoon.

Arrived in Cumberland County this afternoon. I have a old friend from Nashville who I have not seen in several years that lives up here. He has been begging me forever to come visit him at his new house, so I finally stopped in. Wow. Incredible property. 90 acres of mixed hardwoods, narrow stretches of hay fields with some regenerating fields that were logged 5 years ago. The property sits directly on the edge of the Obed (60 foot drop off the back deck) river gorge and extends down to the river. 4000 sq foot log home with a custom man cave garage and a outdoor shower (far cry from the FEMA trailer I slept last night in Nashville). This place is literally crawling with turkeys, rabbits and has quite a bit if deer bedding habitat as well.

Anyway, I got him out squirrel hunting this afternoon for the first time since the early 70s. We took a dunk in is swimming hole down on the Obed river, nabbed a couple of squirrels, grilled up some squirrel and backstraps and drank bourbon and smoked cigars sitting over the river. I got a open invitation to hunt here anytime (nobody hunts this property) and considering the amount of turkeys as well as the setup, I do believe I'll have to take him up on that.

Good deal Poser, that sounds like a sweet deal to me. Best of luck killing critters on your way back home.
