That's today's democrat party. The top Catholic official in the country, and among the highest ranking in the world, and he's repudiated. But the Defender of Mecca gets a bow.
Of course, it would be a bit disingenuous to be promoting abortion following a Cardinal's prayer.

I think the Cardinal will be glad he's been rebuffed, the DNC is going to be huge celbration of "Women's Rights"--you know, Abortion.

Take a look at who they did invite:
"The host committee for the Democratic National Convention is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with featuring Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though Democrats earlier denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event."

Saw on the crawler while channel surfing that the Cardinal will be giving the closing prayer at both conventions.

This guy was pretty outspoken about O-care and what the Kenyan did to the Catholic church w/ mandated birth control.

When he asked the White House, they said no. Somebody at the DNC recognized how stupid that was and the DNC made the invitation.
