I had it done about 6 years ago in Texas. Honestly, it was one of the best things I've ever decided to do. The procedure did not hurt, but the first week after the surgery is not fun because you have to put all these medicated drops in your eyes to help them heal properly. At first I had second thoughts about what I had done to myself. A week or two later I was loving it.

I had it done about 2 years ago with dr. selkin...i got the basic one ($1600, I think) although they will try to upsell you before you make your decision...
it is uncomfortable during the procedure but the next four hours were a little rough....sleep if you can and it was like clockwork...right after 4 hours the pain stopped...i had dry eyes for about 6 - 9 months afterwards.
It was worth though...i love it!

I had RK done about 18 years ago before Lasik was around. It was great for 10 years but your eyes are always changing and I ended up getting back into contacs. Now I am back in glasses and far sighted rather than near sighted. I still have 20/20 with correction but my doctor says I am lucky because my corneas are flatter than a table top. If I were to do anything again it would be the insertable lens under the cornea similar to a surgery for cateracts. Anytime you cut or laser on your cornea you take the risk of scaring which can affect your acuity. Not trying to scare you off just letting you know what to expect long term.

I had PRK done about 3 years ago. I've had excellent results and would do it again in a heartbeat.
With PRK it takes longer to heal than with Lasik. For about a week I couldn't see much at all. That was a scary & aggravating feeling.
Now I'm 20/20 and loving it.

I had it done about 10 years ago. Dr Toyos of Jackson, TN. Only bad thing i can say is it it took a while to completely heal and see clearly. After that it was all good.

Had LASIK done about 10 years ago. Went in on 2 Valium because I'm a fainter, and the idea of being awake while they cut my eyes open tended to make me anxious, just a tad. Once I stopped screaming, things went well, and they were able to get me out of the waiting room and into a prep area.
Went without a hitch, slept most of the next 12 hours, and experienced very little discomfort or dry eyes or anything.
As stated, it doesn't stop your eyes from aging, and I need reading glasses more and more often now, but I've been without contacts or glasses for a decade, and it's awesome not to worry about when hunting, waking up in the night, or swimming.
