I didn't know fishing was a game? I thought it was about catching fish. Smallie fight just as hard when caught on live bait...

I use a lot of the ones mentioned already but one of my favorites is a weightless T-rigged craw, like a baby Rage Tail or Zoom Chiggar Craw type bait. You can swing it in the current on a slow fall or fish it slow on the bottom in still water, but the real advantage is that you can work it on top like a buzzbait when it's weightless also. I get a better hook up % with the craw on top than with a real buzzer or the Ribbit type frogs.

Bitsy tube has always been my favorite. When I use to do a good bit of wading small creeks that's all I would carry.

hey I bass fish with artificials 95% of the time. I just did yesterday in fact. So I am not dissing lure fishing - just saying that live bait is in no way cheating. Shooting a doe with a gun aint cheating either. Just depends on whether you would rather trick the fish, or just feel a big one pull your line. I love the fight of a smallmouth which is why they are my favorite black bass species. They fight just as good when hooked on a live crawfish or minnow.
