The left side of my side imaging screen just stopped reading anything. The right side is still working fine. The unit worked fine last weekend, showing clear view of the structure on both sides. The only thing that has changed is my battery is getting old and needs to be replaced. The unit kept reading voltage input low. Could low voltage cause this or what do you think is wrong?

If it's a Humminbird you might try pulling the transducer plug and putting a little dielectric grease on it. I've had similar issues with mine in the past and it was a poor connection on that plug, the grease corrected it for me.
Just for a comparison: On mine, the left side went to black and the right side was normal. If I jiggled the plug it would correct itself and then go out again after a while, until I put the dielectric on it.
Hope that helps.

Yes the battery or connections. I have a 1198 and a 798 if you need to try and swap head units (yours on my boat and mine on your boat) to try and isolate the problem.

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried to mess with it today. It's not getting good connection so I will try the dielectric grease.

Good chance the pins in the connector need to be bent ever so slightly.
