We drifted below Chicamauga today and did terrible! After 4 hours we had boated 4 small channel cats. We did break off a couple of pretty good ones, but overall a bad day. The weather was perfect, the water was running, they just werent biting! The river level was really low and the flow a little fast, but dang! Plus, everything we caught today was channel cats, no blues at all...what's with that? I don't know if the the cold front coming through or all the storms washing stuff in the water but something sure messed us up. Ahhh well, I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching...

Bluebird skies after a front usually doesn't bode well for fishing. But, it's better than not going at all.

We're trying to decide if we want to try for cats again or give trolling for crappie a chance. I think the next time we go for cats we'll hit some of the deeper holes first. I don't think it matters a lot when you drift the turbines if they're biting.
