Wierd looking fish. Not a bottom dweller cause of the mouth orientation? I don't have any clue?

I don't know what their called but I do know that bass don't care for them. Caught many in the cast net over the years and putting one on the hook is just a waste of time. Not sure why

Yeah and deer supposedly eat hickory nuts and walnuts. Not saying it couldn't happen but I wouldn't put my time in it. I been wading creeks for smallies for a good 18 years and that's just been my observation....
