Nice! I love big grassies. Too bad we don't have many around here. x100 I am still looking for a 40 pounder to catch not to mention a 60 pounder. Bet that thing fought too.

I caught a big carp (30lbs or so) and tried to lift him up by the gills and it tore his face off. I don't even like to touch the ones I shoot. But I wouldve loved to fight that big nasty sucker!

But I wouldve loved to fight that big nasty sucker! yeah grass carp are very powerful but also very delicate fish. I dont like to pick them up by the gills only, always have my other hand under the fish to hold it horizontally. Same with commons. You can't hang them by the gills on a scale either, or the hook will rip through the gill cover. Grass carp will lose a lot of scales if you let em flop on the ground too. I have pulled scales out even holding one by the tail in the water. They're just huge minnows... real easy to tear them up.

In Europe, that would be a real feat. Carp are revered there, much like our Largemouth Bass over here.
