A few weeks ago I saw what I swear was an albino carp. It swam right next to me so I got a good look at it and the only other thing it could have been was a white koi. But it looked just like a common carp that was completely white. Who knows... but who else has seen or caught an albino fish and what species?

I used to catch white goldfish from a city water lake. Some weighed over 5 pounds.

My buddy and I saw a solid white gar one time. Every time we go back to that spot we always mention it.

summer flounder (fluke) fishing was good and I bet a halibut is a heck of a lot better with the size they grow to.

My brother caught albino catfish in the late 80's. It weighed about 6 lbs. Caught it in roaring river after a big rain.

I wonder since a halibut or flounder are bottom layers and seem to lay on the same side if one side may eat a little differently than the other side.

I saw what could have been an albino but more likely just a very pale colored drum today in the harpeth. Then a while later I was upstream about 100 yd trying to snag a buffalo, and I saw it again. I snagged a scale off it. Wish I could have caught it. I have seen so many drum and their dark grey-blue appearance underwater. This one looked very pale grey if not white, hard to tell when the water is not completely clear. Oh and it was 6, 7 + pounds which is big for the harpeth. I saw its rounded tail very clearly and it wasn't a buff.

The upper side is the only side that my cousin and guide would filet. Not enough tthickness on lower side to make a decent filet.

I filleted both sides of 2 flounder last year and I remember there was enough meat on the lower side to fillet, and these weren't real big fish either.

Never caught a halibut "yet" but flounders ive caught plenty of best was 8lb and you do get 4 fillets and I've never noticed any taste difference in the 4. Man that's making me hungry now!

they are good eating but are very delicate textured. I prefer a meaty fish to flounder any day. Walleye, salmon, cod, tuna etc are my favorites
