I'm coming home to Tennessee in 2 weeks. Grew up around the Tennessee Ridge and Stewart areas. I tried to find someone with land to allow me to squirrel hunt. So far, no luck. I remember as a kid I could go pretty much anywhere with a nod or handshake and a little understanding of the terrain. Now, I can't find anybody that will allow me to hunt. I don't get it. I served my country, have worked in law enforcement out west but apparently, I'm not good enough to get back to my roots and shoot some squirrel. Best I could do was state park and I'm grateful but I prefer untouched private land. Any suggestions folks???

Unless you're on a very small public parcel with little hardwoods, you'll likely have plenty of elbow room. There's simply not many people squirrel hunting like there once was, and some of the public land can be better than much of the private land. I think there's a good crop of squirrels this year in Stewart Co.

LBL also has a lot of seed ticks.
