Will do - As much as I luv me sum ugly feesh, I'm about done with carp for a while. I'm ready for deer season.
Go, what size tippet do you use for deer? I assume you use a Bucktail fly
this wouldn't be allowed in the tournament but I dip my Doe Tail fly in some estrous scent and it works great on those mature bucks. Careful or they will run between trees and break you off... use a sturdy tippet.
I gots ta try this!

catman, you and gil have to be good to catch carp on a fly on purpose. I have done it by accident while fishing for trout, but have never purposly tried to catch a carp on a fly. Really think it is time for me to give it a try.

it's not easy but when you hook one it's a heck of a battle. I guess you would know from accidentally hooking one. All about sight fishing... get your fly in front of a visibly feeding carp. Thanks again for the fly rod.... oh and I believe I said I would pay you back for the shipping, don't let me forget.
