Iven contemplating something sim. for my yard.
Although my idea was to use 2-4 of an old style manual type mower (no motor) and attach these to outrigger bars to increase my width. would have to have some type of rollling pin plate to adjust height though. would seems low maint. (and cheap) way
to get some extra width.
This idea prob wouldnt work well if your goal is a trail type mower.
Bet you could find an old mower dek thats in good shape and mount a motor and wheels on it as well, prob suit this need better..just some thoughts..

Had a guy I worked with a long time ago , took 3 pushmowers and took the handles off. He arranged them in a triangle , 1 in front and 2 in the back. Either bolted or welded flat metal stock to them to hold them together , attached a hitch to the front one so he could pull it with his atv. I never saw it but he claimed it worked great.

I tried welding two old Craftsman 6.5 hp pushmowers together, with one going backwards to set the discharge the right way out both sides. I then hooked an arm to the middle of it that hooked to the back of my ATV.
Yeah, it didn't work out so well. There was a 5 inch strip between where the mowers attached that never got mowed unless I made double trips around the yard. Plus, whenever I went over any kind of hill one side of the mower would get lifted off the ground and that part didn't get cut.

Also, and this was probably because the mowers were old, the wheel height was constantly bumping to the wrong height so the grass was at an angle.

All this might have been okay in a city yard with perfect landscaping and no yard "problems", but that's not my yard.

Anyway, after listening to my neighbors laugh at my redneck riding mower for a few weeks, and given the dismal results of my crude workmanship, I just trashed the whole thing and got a used riding lawnmower. Which is what I should have done in the first place.

I was think something to mow down food plots , so it wouldn't have to be a perfect cut.

never imagined anyone else had pondered on this, been think about it for a while now.

I have a motor & a complete 42 inch deck but would rather have a one wide enuff to use a 3 blade set up, mite as well make it big enuff to cut down on the mow'n time I figured.
