The winter trout don't live long enough to be affected, water's not clear enough. And that's not the city's camera, it's the Harpeth River Watershed Association's camera. Removal is good, allows free flow of the river. good point

Removal is good, allows free flow of the river. good point I know the trout don't live long but I was thinking in terms of how they will disperse after stocking. You see the way to fish for them for the first day or two after stocking is to use corn or trout magnets and find the school of them right below the dam and catch one after the other. some sport fishing aint it?
and then they start to disperse downstream. I am wondering how many will travel upstream this time. Also, I wonder if any spring-fed tributaries hold a few over the summer. I've heard of it from a friend who fishes the harpeth all the time. If the spring water is cold enough year-round I guess it's possible.

There are some good smallmouth though. I would love to see a bass eat a stocker trout in the harpeth... lots of bass but the big ones aren't often seen.

The water's not that clear though... silt is the biggest single pollutant in the Harpeth.
