Never made it all the way to Canada but I've fished WI and my dads fished Canada.

I would go for pike and musky!

Rainy Lake is great. To get away even more look for an outfitter who has a place on the upper Manitou river. Awesome smallmouth fishing.

Been several times and actually just got back from taking both my boys 2 weeks ago! We fished the Pipestone chain in Ontario this time and had a great trip. We fished a lot of different portage and walk in only lakes off the main Pipestone lake. Caught literally hundreds each of, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Walleye, Pike, and a few Musky.

I have fished the same area several times, stayed in a cabin at Cleartwater Lodge, before it sold. Winchester, did you fish Kishkatina?

No HH, but I did see it on the map. We just could only fish so many places in 7 days time! Awesome area for sure!!

I have been 3 times to British Columbia in very remote areas. That has been fishing high elevation glacier fed lakes, streams, and rivers for cutthroats, rainbows, and dolly varden mainly in the Golden, BC area. The gravel road we used to access all the fishing areas went for 92 miles before hitting blacktop again, and it was all crowne land so everything was open for fishing. If your considering Western Canada give me a shout.

My dad fished Kiskateana many years ago (sp?) and he said it was loaded but too many fish, they were small. They canoed in, it was a full day he said to get there.

smstone22, if there are not smallmouth bass to be caught, I lose interest. I have nothing against other fish, but smallmouth are my favorite.
