Jet Sled for pulling deer out of woods. It pulls great on anything except bare dirt, but works particularly well over dry leaves and obviously snow. Protects hair from pulling out on rocks and sticks. Much less tippy than a wheeled cart, can also be used to keep blood out of truck bed or wherever you hang the deer. Costs aprox $40-$90, depending on size.

Here's a Youtube clip of my son and grand daughter pulling her 125 lb buck with it:

Last season I bought a roll-up sled with straps. I can pack it in on my stand rolled up like a tube. What a work saver for us folks who don't own ATVs!

Ive got a heavy plastic snow sled($25-$35 depending upon where you buy it) I keep in the back of the truck. Drilled holes in the upper lip and ran rope all the way around it. Drug a small buck out with no problems.

Would this work good over a long drag say a mile or so or would a deer cart be better?

I can't imagine this is in anyway practical for dragging a deer for a mile or in rough terrain: Ditch crossings? Cypress knees? Rocks? Up hill? Manipulating thick growth where you'll loose momentum due to turning? -no way.

Thats what I was wondering? The walk in area I hunt,I have to hike in about a mile thru agricultural fields. I think a deer cart would be alot better over flat ground.

I'm increasingly doing more and more butchering in the field and packing out the quarters in my pack. The more I think about it, the more I wonder why this is such an uncommon practice in the South.
