So back to the tournament. How was the weekend, Brian. Were the bigguns in your new hole? I think I'm going to go on Tuesday if the water clears up by then. It's only supposed to be 98 freaking degrees.

ha I was 3 ft from an ol grassie, nothing huge, but it was 9pm with barely any light left in the sky and something spooked him right in front of my face as I lay flat on the ground with my fly rod.... oh well there's next time. Not half as bad as having a 15-20 pounder take your fly and then having the hook come off somehow.
Yall have fun in the heat, I am deciding what to do with Tuesday as I have the whole day off.

Were the bigguns in your new hole? Is that any way to talk on a public forum??? Looks like you and catman are both going to be fishing tomorrow while I'm stuck at work. I guess I'll be nervously checking the board Wednesday morning... Good luck, but not TOO much luck. bd I will be all over the map tomorrow, not staying in one spot too long, unless I find a spot where the fish are numerous and cooperating.

Okay clue me in on what type of fly you use for carp? all I see is people using honemade dough balls and tight line for them.

Congratulations to all. I think I would have flipped the top two "ugly" fish.

it was great to participate this year and I look forward to next year. Congrats to all the winners. that silver carp was a cool catch despite silver carp being such a nuisance fish. I'd love to get my fly in front of one that was feeding like that. I will be honing my carp fly fishing skills between now and next year's tourney....

Oh yeah - forgot to give credit where credit is due. Catman's ugly fish captured second place, and more than a few felt he could have won the king of the big uglies.
