Definitely either the same genetic line or possibly even the same buck. Very similar shape.

And the second buck in your pic (the one at the lick) is a very VERY common shape for the area. I call it the "crabclaw" shape. Several of the oldest bucks we've photographed or killed have that shape.

I don't know why we see so few basic 10-pointers in the area. They are definitely a rare thing, even among the oldest bucks. Although I did get a picture of what is already a 9-point buck (looks like a 3 1/2 year-old) and he still has plenty of time to grow that 10th point.

When I seen the pic my stomach went into knots. I'm just glad he is in the area. It looks a lot like the same buck. I will tell you the story when I see you. ;\)

By the way, I noticed the "crabclaw" buck in the photo is the one you killed last year!
