for the first time since i moved here (04) i seen some poults. i had just left my house and a few hundred yards down the road i seen a hen just sit down right off the road. so i stopped, backed up and she got up and didnt run off. she had hid the poults sitting on them. there were at least 9 that i seen before i drove off.

Saw several poults this weekend in Wayne County that were much larger than quail. Now that the wheat & oats have matured the birds are hammering the plots.

Also, heard 1 gobble last Saturday at 3:30 PM...

Been seein several bunches of little uns here in Bledsoe County, have been since the 1st of May. Friend of mine has hatched out 2 bunches in an incubator , he ran both of the hens through a disc mower. One bunch is 13 days old and the other bunch is 25 days old and both bunches could fly on there 9th day.

Wow, that's pretty awesome that he was able to do that. Are they likely to join up with other hens?

He is gonna raise em for a few months and turn em loose in his yard. He has hens come through his yard all the time with babies so maybe they will join up with em
