Shooting house question

When you put up a shooting house do you anchor it to the ground. If you do how do you anchor one or two anchors. I had a freind say he would anchor with one under and tied to all four corners. Will this work or should there be two on opposite corners.

I drove a fence post into the ground under mine, then used a single strap straight down to the post. I never had one blow over.

One good anchor system is to dig a hole under the stand, fill with quick-Crete, put an eye bolt in the cement, an eye bolt on the underside of the platform of the shooting house, then use a turnbuckle and cable or chain and crank it down snug. Works very well.

I'm looking for some ideas also. In the process of finishing a stand that will be around 8' in the air and probable weighs around 300 lbs and looking at ways to anchor it down. It will set out in the wide open and will catch some wind. I'm using elevator brackets so the legs have some angle but worried a little since it's a little top heavy. A place in town has the long anchors with one disk on the bottom and thought about using a couple of those.

Iowavf, sounds like you are doing about the same thing I am. That is why I wanted to know how to anchor. I'm thinking about using 2 of the screw in anchors off opposite corners.

we had a 10' and a 6' high one blow over last year during a storm. they had metal fence post in the ground with a lag bolt holding it to the post. pulled them right out of the ground

I quick-crete all four corner posts on mine. I've never had a problem with wind blowing one of my shooting houses down using this method.
