Most tame gobblers that i have seen do not have beards. pretty bird

That is my thoughts exactly,I have seen white in wild turkeys quite often..that bird looks more then 18 pounds.

Hey guys, going on my 5th year turkey hunting, so pardon my ignorance. But...do you seriously think it is tame, or am I missing the joke. If your serious, why would you think it is? Also, can someone on here say for sure that it is a merriam? It sure looks like it is. Again, pardon my ignorance, but have you guys killed or seen killed any other birds in TN other than Eastern? Just curious...Anyway, beautiful bird.
Because I have seen first hand other species in Tn that were pen raised.... for whatever the purpose.... maybe that is the case and it escaped it's pen.... being a turkey, he went and mingled with the native population.

I am betting a wild hen got mixed up with a tame tom. Hens travel quite some distance, so it doesn't have to be from near by.
BTW, I would have shot it and been proud of it. It's a good bird and probably as wild as the rest in woods.
