Im ready to put me another varmint gun together, thinking a bolt gun or possibly AR. Im wanting to have it dipped or maybe paint it. Ive seen some pretty cool Krylon camo jobs. Id really like to give that a try. For a bolt gun I want a tactical stock been looking on midway but hard to picture exactly what it will look like together. Let me see some pics and I welcome any input you may have.

+1 ... no reason to kill yourself no more than you get to shoot at coyotes. I really like the Remington LVSF's... 6 3/4 lbs, a comfortable carry. ;\)

I do shoot an occasional yote but it will probably most time on the range. A Rem varmint or tactical model is kinda where Im looking. I really like the looks of the heavy barrel. Although I have heard good things about the TC bolt also. I looked around a but yday, seen a Savage 12 this thing must have been 5' long. It was the largest rifle in the case. I have also seen some AR's that different places are having sales on. I havent researched them much but Bushmaster in the $780 range and DPMS in the $550 range. This seems to be a rather decent price compared to others Ive seen. Which these must be bottom end models.

Any rifle is a coyote rifle if you have a coyote in range. However there are rifles more suited to the task. I prefer an AR chambered in .223. The AR is accurate, rugged, reliable, easy to clean/maintain, and has near infinite parts availabilty and potential for modification to suit your needs or wants. Plus for ME, the ability to have rapid follow up shots is an important feature-and occasionally you will see 2 or more coyotes at once and have the capability to engage multiple targets quickly. The AR is also deer capable with the right ammo and is a good choice for 'homeland' security. Killed this one a week or so ago with a DPMS Sportical @ 166 yards. PH

Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow in 243WSSM. Light weight and a great little shooter with the 55gr ballistic silvertips

Howa 1500 in 22-250

Then theres the one i never leave home without anymore. Remington R15 in 204 Ruger. Great shooter with the Hornady 32gr Vmax that will flat out put em down on the spot.
