Anyone else notice light weights on birds this year?

My dad killed double bearded (10 & 5"), one-inch spurred gobbler this morning. He didn't touch 15 lbs on the scales !

No noticeable injuries, and the meat looked fine. And this was middle TN, as well!

Reckon since he's been breeding since February that he's wore himself plumb out \:D ?

Not at all birds have been heavier than normal. The places I hunt have ideal habitat and virtually unlimited food, combine that with a mild winter and the weight packed on.

Killed a two year old gobbler up on the mountain on Thursday(1:00) that barely made 16 pounds. Craw was empty and his breast(ball)was bare ;\)

One was 18 lbs and the other was just shy of it. About average round here for what I guesstimated as 2-year old birds.
