In the last year dad has lost I think close to 30 hens a few roosters and 6 geese. 5 of the geese were killed the same night. I thought the hawks were getting most of the smaller birds but the geese prove we have something bigger to deal with. Mom wants any animal capable of getting her birds dead

Coyote season is open year round. Dogs and foxes can be the culprits too. I lost about 10 hens last year before finally killing the chicken killing fox. Haven't lost any since then but the predators are out there-fortunately not all of them develop a hankering for killing livestock. PH

Glad to help if you were closer. Missed on a yote this turkey season, and saw another come in close behind me.
First yotes ive seen turkey hunting.

When I had chickens, it was coons I had the most trouble with. Easy to catch with a cage trap.

A buddy at a hunt club near mine used sponges cut up into 1x1 squares soaked in Chicken grease. He would put them out in piles and the Coyotes would eat the sponges apparently it kills them. He hasn't seen the numbers he used to.
