i am in the process of building a deer hanger that slides into the hitch on my truck , it will have a boat winch to pull the deer up with ,i have seen a few before and they are pretty handy around camp or even at home , has any one built one of these before ??

Yep,....DA has built several of em for folks on here I know...even got a name for em....The Hangulaotor.....

Wish I had the time to make my own. I bought one for $89 from Sportsmans Guide. It goes with me on every hunt. I lock it into the bed of my truck to make sure no one else is enjoying it when I'm not there. Pretty handy to have.

Mine's 8 ft tall plus the height to the hitch, so ~10 ft. Tall enough that you can hang a deer full length. Its strong too. One of the kids hung from it, so they tell me. He's a pretty big boy too.

I have one, winch is stripped and I have to replace it this summer. I think two years ago when a buddy and I were living in same house it hung 20 that season.
