Here is one my Ag. Mech. class built last week. I hang my deer by the neck so when I field dress all the entrails fall out instead of into the chest cavity. Also helps when you take the hind legs off that the deer isn't hanging by them. I just wrap the cable around the neck and up it goes.

No, neither of those people are me FYI.

Wish I had the time to make my own. I bought one for $89 from Sportsmans Guide. It goes with me on every hunt. I lock it into the bed of my truck to make sure no one else is enjoying it when I'm not there.
Pretty handy to have.

Mine's 8 ft tall plus the height to the hitch, so ~10 ft. Tall enough that you can hang a deer full length. Its strong too. One of the kids hung from it, so they tell me. He's a pretty big boy too.

I have one, winch is stripped and I have to replace it this summer. I think two years ago when a buddy and I were living in same house it hung 20 that season.

I been thinking about building some of these. Abt as handy of a thing as you could own. Bet I could find more uses than hanging deer.
