Do Mulberry Trees even grow in dense forests? -seems like they are more of open field or fields edge trees since they don't grow very tall.

I'll get out ealry a few mornings. My experience has been it is a very hard time to hunt with a 22 bc the squirrels are moving from bloom to bloom or on the ground in cover.
Shotgun is much more practical, but I like the challenge of shooting them wiht the 22 I agree with you. A few people have suggested that I would kill a lot more Squirrels using a shotgun, but really? How many squirrels do I need? If I go out 4 or 5 times during the Spring season and only bag 2 to 4 squirrels each time, then that is plenty of Squirrel meat for the summer. Using a .22 will definitely make you a better hunter. Plus, you don't have to wear ear protection.  I wish I wore ear protection when I was younger!

I have quite a few in the back yard that need thining out. My old Benjamin Franklin .22 pump up air rifle should do the trick.
By the way.....that grilling thing sounds interesting. Is there any special prep needed.

One thing to add to that: after grilling, I usually place the squirrel in foil and put that back on medium heat for 20 minutes. Summertime is a good time for Jerked Squirrel and Southwestern squirrel, both of which I have recipes for in the cooking forum.

I am going to go some.. just not this weekend. I have a new male cur I am training and he is finally starting to get the hang of this treeing thing!! lol He is bred as good as you can get and is classy on the tree.. I think he is gonna be a good one.

didnt even know until a few mins ago. I think my ruger 10/22 that i have made into a tactical needs some shooting.
