Got on this guy at a new spot this morning, and he hung up at 100 yards for an hour gobbling his head off . After calling every ten minutes or so wasn't cutting it, I went silent for 30 minutes and he couldn't handle it anymore and finally came looking! 1" spurs 10 3/4" beard 17 lbs

Congrats! Patience prevails once more. I take it he came in silent? Yeah , he got quite for bout ten min so I figured he was coming or leaving, then he dropped off in the creek bed spitting and drumming all the way to the gun!

I am still curious what is the spitting and drumming? Just other forms of turkey communication by a gobbler that typically precedes a gobbler strutting. IMO, spitting sounds similar to two small sticks (saplings) being slapped together (tick sound). Drumming sounds like a low frequency VROOM. These links may help you out.
