I have always let deer age a few days before cooking. I would assume rabbit should be done the same way…dress it & let it sit in the fridge 2 or 3 days. What is your routine?

try it without soaking in saltwater. that takes all the flavor out of it.

So stik, do you just put the cleaned meat in a covered dish in the fridge? How long? Do you usually make a stew or fry?

I know rabbit is not in season, but I have a couple checking out my garden already & I'm not gonna let them munch on my veggies again this year and I don't want to waste the meat...

Thanks!!

Hopefully one wouldn't be cited for pest control... if I catch a critter eating my vegetables and have my BB gun, the critter will do the backflip of death.

Why is it that I see so many rabbits off-season (especially this time of year) and see them while deer hunting, but when it's rabbit season and I actually have my shotgun, I never see any. Combination of murphy's law and not rabbit hunting enough I guess.

I did read that ruger, funny story. I remember hearing you can shoot small game out of season if they are damaging property. So I hope I wouldn't get cited for shooting any stupid critter that tries to get in the house or eat my vegetables.
