Yes! My type of logic there.

Not much of a wt fan though. By not much I mean I only drink it in copious amounts when someone else is buying. I prefer blantons, basil Hayden, or benchmark and Jim beam black for lower end.

Had some of the later Friday night at a country concert in Lexington after tagging out that morning. Goal here is to always be tagged out by derby week.

Sometimes the gods require a lot of us and you just gotta step up.

I buy a couple of bottles of good stuff each Fall along the lines of Blantons, George T Stagg, Bookers, Noah Mills, but I have found WT to be the best bang for your buck when you're in the $18-$22 per bottle range. I definitely like it better than Makers Mark which, at twice the cost, is only aged to the state minimum. I also really like Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I seldom order high end Bourbons out at bars, though as its just too expensive. Its kind of like the Miller High Life of bourbon: the price is right is its actually a good product.

Have you tried Jim Beam Black? We have conducted several blind bourbon tastings, and even against higher end stuff it has always placed in the top 3. Granted, some of the participants are less than active bourbon drinkers, but shows its general appeal IMO.

Recently at $18 a handle my mixing bourbon has been benchmark. Getting to be beer season, but this weekend I'll have at least one mint julep.

I'll get me some WT to try. Haven't had any in a good while.

Its been a long time since I've had Jim Beam Black. I remember liking it well enough, though the white label and me have bad memories from my younger days.

Try the Wild Turkey Rare Breed.
