i like to know what the training seasons are for union and grainger counties.
i had a few buddies with their hunting licenses and dogs with no guns. And a game worden gave them tickets and it said on the tickets they got they was hunting in a closed season.
i read the hunting guide and it says it's year round exsept where regulated by privet acts.
but it doesn't list grainger or union county in it.
So whats the season on coon hound trianing? And i wasn't with them but they wanted me to go but i didn't

I would call TWRA region and ask why they were given a ticket.More than likely someone called them on you that didnt know you can train year around, but no excuse for the warden not knowing you can. They werent on a WMA that doesnt allow night time dog training were they?Only been checked by the game warden 3 times at night once because my neighbor called them, once they were looking for someone and seen me walking across food plot on a WMA and once while coonhunting out of boat on Labor day weekend. (In a boat on Labor Day you count on being checked)

well i found out what happened. this time i was glad i didn't go with them or i would have a ticket too.
They had a gun and ammo behind the seat on there truck. And like the Region IV office said you can not carry any kind of firearm while training your dog in training season.
so when the TWRA officer found the gun and ammo and the blood in the back of the truck they got a ticket and their gun taken untill court.

We wont be coon hunting anywhere legally before to long Im afraid. Ive even heard it insuated that coon hunting may be outlawed in the BSF before too long because of the bears. They wouldn say anything official about it of course though, you know how that goes. Everybody will just become an outlaw if that happens.
