When the birds are not into breeding how many of you guys use fall tactics on spring gobblers? Last year a cold snap turned the birds off. I snuck in close to the old boys roost and offerd some hot hen talk. He was gay that day. So I offerd up some gobbler yelps. Then he started yelping back and practically flew into my lap. The shot was an easy one too. 30 yards and I shot over his head!lol

I've used a different fall tactic a few times. When a gobbler is henned up real bad I have walked in and busted them up. You have to see which way he flies for it to work though. If you can tell which way he went just go that way and call him back. Or just wait for him to start gobbling again. This doesn't work most of the time but maybe 50/50. I won't do this on my private spots though.

no doubt fall strategies work in the spring..i've even went as far as seperating the flock & "keeing" one back to the gun.
